“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” Carl Jung

The image above is of the two-faced Greek god Janus. Janusian thinking is the ability to hold several opposing views at once, seen as an attribute of a creative genius. To help give you a clear idea of how effective your team’s creative thinking process currently is, we use a powerful, easy-to use assessment tool called VIEW. High-performing creative teams know how to appreciate and use the diversity of their team members, and VIEW helps get a handle on individual approaches to creative behaviour, problem-solving, change management and innovation. It encourages both collaboration and productivity. It is based on more than 25 years of research and development and takes just 10-15 minutes to complete.

1. Increase self-awareness in relation to creativity
In what ways are you creative? Using VIEW allows you to obtain a deeper understanding and appreciation of your own preferred ways of problem-solving and managing change. It provides implications for leveraging personal strengths.

2. Improved teamwork
VIEW can help identify team strengths and preferences, as well as any Achilles’ heels. Using VIEW allows each member of a team to understand how they might best contribute to a successful outcome.

3. It’s non-judgemental.
There are no better or worse, right or wrong styles. Each style has unique strengths and weaknesses. Each person receives an individual report that can then be shared with the team or used for personal development and problem solving training.

We often use the VIEW as the starting point for all our creative work with an organisation to help maximise the team’s output. It’s also the first step for any individual creativity coaching work.  Take this before putting together your creative programme with elements including Creative Ninjas, Brainstorm facilitation and Creative Leadership. Read our blog to find out more about the VIEW in action.

“VIEW has helped me understand how I approach the creative process and problem solving in general. It also helped me recognise that I may need to alter the way I approach tasks to get the best out of people who work in a different way to me.”
